Why won't BP let scientists and government agencies help them plug the leaking well?

this is a non partisan question. The information from BP changes every day it seems. Why can’t we just go to the spill sight, point some guns at BP, and say "we’re plugging this hole". BP won’t even let our best scientists nor universities near this thing. The Chernobyl disaster was cleaned up, not by the company that caused it, but by the Russian Air Force. This drilling a relief well is a one in a million shot to get correct the first time. Are we seriously going to wait that long? Your thoughts?

Can you believe it? Jamie Gorelick is now involved with 3 US disasters?

She played a role in keeping the intelligence agencies from sharing information. The "Gorelick Wall" helped contribute to the success of the 9/11 attacks.

Not satisfied with that, she moved over to Fannie Mae as Vice Chairman and played a hand in running that organization, and our economy, into the ground

And now she’s helping BP deal with Congress on the Gulf Oil Spill

Is this lady the Typhoid Mary of the modern age?

Isnt Obama talented? Who can take the worst oil spill in history & MAKE IT WORSE! By Screwing our economy more?

While helping his criminal Billionaire Buddy George Soros’ Oil Company, Petrogras by giving them 2 billion of our money to drill deeper off shore than BP was? Yes, he is deliberately destroying the economy of the Gulf States to help out his buddy George Soros for all his help in twisting information through moveon.org and helping him cheat the election. George gets richer, the US economy gets SCREWED BY OBAMA … nice huh?

What has BP done so far to stop the oil spill?

I need some information about the past of the BP oil spill; specifically, what BP has done to tackle the crisis. I have heard some shady details – that they originally tried to "dilute" the crisis by shoveling in as many things as they could; another is that they are using some sort of acid that dissolves the oil, but is also incredibly harmful for the environment. What were the details of the methods I mentioned before? Also, what other failed methods did BP use to try and stop the crisis?

Blame The President If You Want, But Do You Want To Know How BP Is Handling Wildlife Rescue & Rehab?

Do you want to know? Read it here. A first hand account of someone who is there, ready to help. See how your precious BP is not doing what it should. Or could. (I would’ve posted the link but I’m ‘new’ and yahoo won’t link it). PLEASE READ THIS.

"The issue of wildlife rehabilitation is not being addressed effectively by BP. Tri-State Bird Rescue is in Venice, La. They have received very few live birds proportionate to the numbers actually being affected. Most of the birds, turtles, dolphins, etc., are washing up dead. However, teams are not being sent out to capture oiled birds and other … See Morewildlife suffering from the effects of the oil and dispersants. In order to save the wildlife the animal must be brought into the facility to be cleaned. With no one going out to retrieve birds and other animals the wildlife of the Gulf of Mexico is sentenced to a slow and painful death. Experienced individuals from the gulf coast states have signed up with BP to volunteer for capture, cleaning, and medical triage work. Some of us have been on a sign up list for more than a month. We have worked at other oil spills. We have had the required OSHA training. Many of us have had advanced training since working at past spills. We know how to work safely and effectively with wildlife. However, BP never calls with an assignment or information as to where our services are needed. We are not asking to be paid. We want to help. However all we are ever told is to “Stand by and BP will notify when BP deems it necessary.” Meanwhile the wildlife is dying and nothing meaningful is being done! The photos taken June 3, 2010 at East Grand Terre Island, LA by AP Photographer Charlie Riedel prove birds are coming ashore alive but heavily oiled. Without help they die, simple as that! BP has a list of thousands who have volunteered to help with wildlife rehabilitation but refuses to call any of the volunteers to help bring in the wildlife for rehabilitation. In my opinion, BP doesn’t want the American public to see the carnage they have caused. BP appears to be hoping most of the wildlife and birds will die off shore and sink to the bottom of the Gulf. Out of sight, out of mind! Hopefully the news media will investigate the issue of wildlife deaths and the supposed good faith efforts BP claims to be doing. It is all a dog and pony show for the media, the Whitehouse, politicians, and the American public. Wake up America! The efforts to save our wildlife should not be in the hands of BP. The massive rehabilitation effort needed must be directed by local rehabilitation facilities experienced with oil spill contaminated wildlife. Resources should and could have been activated at the beginning of this catastrophic event. The only thing BP has done is set up the “show” facility at Venice and claim that a significant number of wildlife has not been found. People, the birds do not come to you, people must go out and collect them for clean up. If you don’t believe look at the photos at: http://www.facebook.com/l/30aa3;www.boston.com/bigpicture/2010/06/caught_in_the_oil.html. Please don’t let BP get away with this sham of rehabilitation. Sincerely, Uneeda Laitinen ladymar@datasync.com Please pass this on to any contacts you have to get the word out that BP is not helping our dying wildlife."

BP fudging the numbers: Why are YOU surprised?

In the days after the spill started, BP put that estimate at 5000 Barrels a day(which was conservative at best)

Now the nation is upset that the spill wasn’t fixed virtually the first day, and that it’s taken so long to do surgery on the well at 5000 feet under the Ocean, and at depths that would crush the hull of a Sub.

BUT, with the average American being, shall we put it, somehwat morally and ethically ‘challenged’, why is anyone surprised that a corporation act’s unethically, when we ourselves are a train wreck. Some examples…

Roughly 85% of all people lie on their resumes, such as schools they have never attended(or graduated from), and jobs/positions they never held.

In a CNN poll, over 80% of Americans polled felt it was there right to know the private sex-lives of celebrities…I wonder if those 80% would have a problem with a live-feed cam in their bedrooms, for all the world to see?

The founder of FACEBOOK say’s that people are "Dumbo$%K’s" for trusting him for providing personal information to him, yet most people are indifferent to what amounts to a sociopath selling you and I out to the highest bidder(and that includes Login’s and passwords)

Can you have it both ways…demanding ethical/moral behavior, but willing to give or provide very little ourselves?
